What Is VisionQuest?

VisionQuest is a family, youth and child services organization which provides services like residential programming, in-home services and community-based services for at-risk youth, including foster children.

The organization’s residential treatment program essentially offers delinquent youth rehabilitation services, housing vulnerable youth.

Why Are People Filing VisionQuest National Lawsuits?

While the organization claims to offer effective rehabilitative residential programs for vulnerable young people across the country, numerous former VisionQuest residents have alleged abuse, including systemic sexual abuse, committed at VisionQuest facilities for decades.

Recent Case: Johnson v. VisionQuest (2025)

Johnson v. VisionQuest National, Ltd. was filed on September 23, 2025 in Pennsylvania.

The lawsuit alleges that:

  • The plaintiff was raped by a staff member at a VisionQuest juvenile detention center located in Franklin, Pennsylvania
  • The plaintiff was 16 years old when the rape occurred
  • VisionQuest had received reports of substandard care as well as sexual, emotional and physical abuse occurring at the Franklin facility
  • VisionQuest did not take steps to curb the substandard care and abuse despite receiving the reports
  • VisionQuest knew or should have known that the plaintiff was being abused and that the perpetrator wasn’t suited for employment at the Franklin facility
  • VisionQuest failed to monitor staff, ignored obvious red flags, and allowed assaults in unsupervised areas
  • 20 years after the rape, the plaintiff continues to suffer from trauma, PTSD, sleep disruption and social dysfunction
