Ukoniq Lawsuit

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently pulled its approval for Ukoniq, a cancer drug, over concerns that patients who take it may be at higher risk of death. The drug’s maker, TG Therapeutics, voluntarily pulled the medication, which was used to treat two types of lymphoma cancer. The FDA previously granted the drugmaker accelerated approval in the U.S. before it reversed its decision after a clinical trial’s findings.

Nadrich & Cohen is representing clients seeking to hold parties accountable for the harm Ukoniq caused them, including the drug’s maker. If you or a loved one took Ukoniq for lymphoma treatment and experienced side effects, or if you have lost a loved one who used the medication, we can help you take legal action. Our personal injury attorney can review your situation and determine if filing a Ukoniq lawsuit is the next step for you. You can reach out to us today for a free consultation.

What Is Ukoniq?

Ukoniq (generic name umbralisib) is a prescription medication the FDA approved in 2021 to treat two kinds of lymphoma: marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) and follicular lymphoma (FL). The oral medication comes in an 800-mg tablet that is taken once a day. Doctors prescribe the drug to some patients with either MZL or FL lymphoma when their diseases fail to respond to prior treatments.

According to DailyMed, common side effects of Ukoniq are:

  • Infections
  • Diarrhea and non-infectious colitis
  • Hepatotoxicity
  • Neutropenia
  • Severe cutaneous reactions

Per its news release, the FDA recommends that physicians stop prescribing the medication and change their patients’ treatment plans. If you take Ukoniq, you should speak with your doctor about another treatment approach and stop taking the drug as advised.

Should You File a Ukoniq Lawsuit?

If you or a loved one uses or has used Ukoniq, you may be thinking about your next steps. After consulting with your doctor about your health and future medical care, you may want to speak with an attorney at our firm who can help you understand what a Ukoniq lawsuit could look like for you. We can walk you through the steps of possible litigation and how we can prove the drugmaker’s negligence. We can review the evidence you have and collect additional evidence during our investigation into the matter.

Large pharmaceutical companies facing lawsuits over defective drugs often have a team of defense attorneys. Our Ukoniq lawsuit attorney can represent you and protect your rights and interests as you seek to resolve your dangerous drugs lawsuit case.

Recoverable Damages in a Ukoniq Cancer Lawsuit

If you or a loved one is recovering from injuries that Ukoniq caused, you could recover various damages, including:

  • Past, current, and ongoing medical expenses
  • Loss of income or future ability to earn income
  • Physical, mental, and emotional pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress
  • Trauma
  • Loss of companionship
  • Loss of life enjoyment or reduced quality of life
  • Wrongful death damages (e.g., funeral and burial expenses)

Our Ukoniq lawsuit attorney will assess the damages unique to your dangerous drug case. Once we have looked at all your losses, we will come up with the settlement amount that we can request from the liable party.

Our legal team knows California’s product liability laws, which allow consumers who took dangerous drugs to be compensated for their injuries. We are committed to your financial recovery and holding the drugmaker responsible for its negligence. We will also work to recover all damages due to you.

How Nadrich & Cohen Can Help With Your Ukoniq Cancer Drug Lawsuit

Nadrich & Cohen understands that not all drugs on the market benefit the people taking them. Sometimes, drug companies promote, sell, and distribute medications, knowing the dangers that accompany them. Fortunately, consumers have legal recourse to hold drug makers and others responsible when this happens.

Our attorney team has handled dangerous and defective drug cases for more than 30 years. We know what our clients are up against, so we prepare them for the legal fight ahead. We thoroughly prepare our cases against big drug companies and seek that the people we represent get every dime that is due to them.

We Have Recovered Thousands for Our Clients in Dangerous Drug Cases

Here is a sampling of cases we have won for clients in dangerous drug cases:

  • $1,250,000 for a fen-phen user who suffered from primary pulmonary hypertension after using the diet drug briefly
  • $14,250,000 verdict for a young girl who developed Steven’s Johnson syndrome because of children’s Motrin use
  • $5,000 settlement award for a client who had primary pulmonary hypertension after using a diet drug

We Can Start on Your Ukoniq Lawsuit Case Without Upfront Fees, Costs

We care about your recovery, as our former clients can tell you, and this includes addressing any concerns you may have about legal costs. Many people pass up hiring a lawyer because they are concerned about attorney’s fees. We understand this concern.

We work on contingency, so we do not ask for a retainer or bill you hourly for our services. If you hire us to represent you, we will work on your case without any upfront costs or fees. We receive payment only if you recover compensation. You will not owe us unless we win your case.

Dangerous drug cases can take considerable time, so this payment arrangement helps us help our clients who want to pursue their cases without worrying about the costs. Our payment would come from an agreed-upon percentage of your settlement award, so you won’t have to pay out of your pocket. We can discuss our contingency agreement in more detail during a free case consultation.
