A study published in 2010 found that “there is probably no safe level of exposure to benzene, and all exposures constitute some risk.”
27% of the products Valisure tested contained benzene. A complete list of sunscreens that Valisure found benzene in can be found in their May 24, 2021 citizen petition to the FDA.
Can I File A Lawsuit Over Benzene In Sunscreen?
We can help you file a lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson over the presence of benzene in their sunscreens.

A benzene sunscreen lawsuit was filed in Florida on May 25, 2021, just one day after Valisure’s citizen petition was filed with the FDA. The lawsuit claims that Johnson & Johnson broke federal and state laws by not listing benzene as an ingredient on the sunscreens’ labels.
A similar Aveeno and Neutrogena sunscreen lawsuit was filed on July 14, 2021 in California.
Can Oxybenzone Cause Cancer?
The common sunscreen ingredient oxybenzone was linked to carcinogenic activity by a National Toxicology Program rat study. Oxybenzone behaves like an endocrine disruptor and causes allergic skin reactions, according to Environmental Working Group.
Does Octocrylene Cause Cancer?
